What are the requirements for boarding/daycare?
All pets must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Leptospirosis, Bordetella, and Canine flu vaccinations. NO EXCEPTIONS.
NOTE: young dogs must have a complete series of 3 Distemper/Parvo vaccinations
Pets over the age of 8 months must be spayed or neutered in order to board or come to daycare.
While we do accept dogs that do not do well with other dogs, our staff must be able to safely handle them. We do not accept aggressive dogs.
Can I bring my pet’s bedding and toys?
Every overnight guest room is furnished with an elevated cot and cozy bedding. However, you are welcome to bring items from home to make your pet’s stay even more comfortable (beds, blankets, t-shirts, toys).
We provide food and water bowls, so please do not bring bowls (unless your pet requires a slow feeder, etc.)
Some pets can become anxious while boarding, and sometimes that anxiety can lead to them destroying their bedding or personal items. Bring these items at your own risk.
What is included in overnight boarding?
Our overnight guests who are social and play well with other dogs will enjoy daycare – all day, every day play for the length of their stay, at no additional cost. Your pet can run and play with their friends in one of our indoor playrooms and our spacious outdoor yards!
Our guests who are not social with other dogs, will receive one-on-one exercise walks, also at no additional cost (see below for details).
My dog does not do well with other dogs. Can they still board at Pawtham City?
Absolutely. If your dog is not social with other dogs, we can do one-on-one care. This includes a minimum of 4 outside exercise walks a day, during which time your pet can run off some energy, play with toys, play fetch with the humans, whatever their heart desires! Of course they will also get some extra cuddles from our awesome staff!
Do you have outdoor areas for daycare/boarding pets?
YES! In addition to our multiple playrooms, we have 2 spacious outdoor play yards; K9 turf, shade, and play equipment.
Do I need to bring my pet’s food?
We recommend bringing your pet’s food for their overnight stay to keep their diet consistent. You are welcome to bring treats, as well. If you forget to bring their food, we can feed our house dog food for $1 per cup.
We do have a refrigerator for pets with wet/raw diets.
If possible, it’s preferable that all meals are divided into individual baggies.
At check-in, our staff will go over your pet’s feeding instructions as well as any other instructions you have for your pet.
Can I bring my pet’s medication?
Yes, we can administer medication for your pet. We can NOT do injections of any kind.
Can I call to check on my pet during their stay?
100%! You are welcome to call, text (quickest & easiest), or email us to see how your pet is doing. We will let you know how they are eating, who they are playing with, and anything else you’d like to know! We know leaving your pet while you travel is not easy, and we want to assure that you have peace of mind that your pet is happy while they are in our care.
What happens if my pet requires medical attention during their stay?
Should your pet become ill, we will make every effort to contact you and then your listed emergency contact to determine how to proceed. If we determine that your pet requires medical attention and we cannot reach you, we will transport your pet to the nearest veterinary hospital.
